Studio Policies


10 minutes before your class begins! 
If it's your first visit, or you need to pay for classes at the desk, arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Book your class

Visit our interactive schedule and create an account. Download the mindbody app to manage your classes from your phone. We accept online class cancellations up to 2 hours prior to the class start time. If you need to cancel after that time, please call us at the studioFor our classes Yoga Restore and Deep Calm with limited spaces students we strongly recommend prebooking, if you fail to show up for this class you will be charged for the class.

Late policy

We close the class for late arrivals up to 10 min after class start time. If the class has started we will ask you to wait until after the initial centreing and the receptionist will let you in. If you are late to a fully booked class your place may be given to another student. The following classes do not permit late arrivals: Morning Flow, Yoga Restore and Deep Calm classes. The door is locked at the start time and no late arrivals permitted for any of these classes.


Parking Policy for Yoga Students

During peak retail hours (between 10am and 4.30pm), yoga students should not park in the main retail carpark. There is free street parking all around the Tannery. Before 10am and after 4.30pm, yoga students are welcome to park in the main retail carpark. There is also a small additional carpark off Maunsell with a direct walkway to our boardwalk.

On Arrival

We are a shoes off studio, please remove your shoes before you enter the studio placing them in the provided area in reception. If you arrive whilst another class is in progress please keep conversation low. Take all personal belongings with you into the yoga studio (cubbies provided). GYH is not responsible for loss of items.

In the Studio

The teacher will let you know how they would like the mats set up for that class and what props to use. At the close of class, replace all props neatly back on their shelves. 

Mats for Hire

We offer lovely Manduka ProLite Mats for $2 hire. If you ride a bike, walk, run or skate to yoga hire is free! Please spray it down with our natural cleaner after class before returning it to reception. 

Special Conditions & Injuries

Anyone with serious medical conditions or injuries should consult their GP prior to beginning a yoga practice. GYH teachers offer skilled instruction and a wonderfully therapeutic practice. It is very important however that you select an appropriate class level when you are recovering or rehabing an injury. Do let the teacher know of any specific conditions or injuries you are working with prior to the start of class. We highly encourage you to listen to your body and the guidance of your instructor, taking appropriate and/or suggested modifications. Class Pass Policy

The 5 class passes expires 3 months from date of first use. The 10 class passes will expire 6 months from date of first use. The 20 class passes will expire 12 months from date of first use. However if you have extenuating circumstances please let us know as soon as possible and we are happy to work with you as required.

Class Cancellations & Substitute Teachers

Grassroots Yoga & Health reserves the right to arrange for a qualified substitute teacher as needed or to cancel classes due to inclement weather or staff emergencies. Any class cancellation will be denoted in the online booking system, our website and on our Facebook page. We aim to post any last minute class cancellations to our home page and Facebook within two hours of class start time. A reduced schedule of classes or full holiday closure may happen during public and school holidays. 

Event Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your attendance at a workshop or event, you will be given a full refund (less an administrative fee) if notice is given 72 hours before the scheduled programme commences. Perhaps a friend can come in your place, please contact us directly if you wish to arrange this. If you cancel after the programme has begun or on the day of the programme, you will not receive a refund.
