A Pilates inspired workshop to connect you with your centre and strengthen your key supportive muscles. This workshop will introduce the central principles of Pilates and explore how they can be helpfully integrated into your yoga practise. We will work with strength and precision to build muscle memory and improve the neural pathways between body and brain. All levels welcome.
Clare’s love affair with yoga began at an early age. From the age of 20, she was mentored and trained at the Eastern Suburbs Yoga Centre with Julian Calvo, one of Sydney’s original yoga pioneers. From there, she explored Vinyasa Flow, Alchemic Yoga, Yin and Hatha before realising that having children does indeed put a stop to your daily (hour-long) yoga practise. This led her to the local gym where she discovered the wonders of Pilates, which helped put her body back together while her kids were in the creche. She trained to become a Pilates instructor in 2015 before moving to Christchurch with her Kiwi hubby and two young daughters. Clare teaches a unique blend of yoga which aims to strengthen the body, challenge the mind and uplift the spirit.
