Learn how to target and release specific areas of the body. Week 1 will focus on the upper body and week 2 the lower body. Self-Myofascial Release (MFR) is a set of self-directed and adaptable techniques that use props to gently manipulate the muscle and fascial tissues. An excellent complement to yoga or sport training, helping the body prepare before physical activity and supporting soft tissue recovery after. Also a useful tool for working with repetitive stress injuries and muscular imbalances that can develop from exercise and sport. Studies suggest regular MFR application can prevent injury, reduce muscle soreness and pain, improve circulation, and increase range of motion, functionality, and resilience within the body. Evidence also indicates great emotional effects of MFR by helping you release stress, regulate the nervous system, and find deeper relaxation and rest.

Jesse was first introduced to Myofascial Release about two years ago, on her journey to her 500hr yoga teacher certification with YOGA MEDICINE. While curiosity inspired her to sign up for a training she initially knew little about, she quickly found that adding MFR to her own yoga practice allowed her to shift into a slower, more mindful, and deeply intuitive place. Through working one-on-one with students on a variety of journeys, she also discovered the power and versatility of MFR to complement so many aspects of life on and off the yoga mat. She has become passionate about sharing these techniques, and her enthusiasm for the practice is contagious.
