SATURDAY 14th AUGUST 1-3pm
Mary is a very thoughtful and analytical teacher who has a gift for demystifying the complexity of poses and making them more accessible and possibly even enjoyable. With a longer workshop session discover your own break through moments in arm balances. 2hrs allows for a longer warm up, demonstrations, more time to apply the concepts and integration for completion. Arm balances involve core strength, shoulder stability, wrist flexibility, hip opening and trust! This will be a wholistic and empowering look at this fun yet challenging category of poses. Recommend for yogis that are curious, frustrated or excited by this category of poses. Starting with bakasana (crow pose), and expanding into variations from there.
Mary shares: “Arm balances tend to be a “love them or hate them” category of poses. They can be invigorating AND at the same time bring up alot of fear in us! This is natural and I happen to land on both sides of the continuum, which is why I’m committed to unpacking these complex (and in my opinion) very enjoyable poses.” Mary has been teaching at Grassroots since 2016 and is experienced supporting all levels of experience. Students come out of her classes marvelling at learning new ways to experience the practice and marvel at her creative approach and understanding of biomechanics of movement.
