Charlie Catt Scholarship Fund 2018

Each year Grassroots will grant two yoga scholarships in memory of our inspiring friend and longtime student, Charlie Catt.

This scholarship is intended to make the beneficial practices of yoga more available to and achievable for both those 1) in need of financial assistance, who may not otherwise be able to attend regular yoga classes and 2) sincerely interested in beginning or sustaining an ongoing practice of yoga.

Scholarships are in the form of a 20 Class Pass and will be granted based on financial need and also demonstrated interest in starting or continuing yoga.

Our scholarship is funded by donations from current students who wish to contribute to the fund in memory of Charlie Catt. We will also use some funds from our koha Community Yoga class as a way to generate supplementary funding for this scholarship’s ongoing continuance.

Who is eligible to apply?

Any person over the age of 17 who is sincerely interested in the practice of yoga and needs financial help is eligible to apply. Applicants must demonstrate financial need in order to receive a scholarship award. We consider this application to be a trust-based process and rely on the applicant’s integrity and honest self reporting of their financial circumstances.

Grassroots is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all persons and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, national origin, age, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, religion, height or weight.
